The IWPA model

Five domains. Five different kinds of evidence. One integrated read.

IWPA does not average a person into a single score. It measures how they behave, how they manage emotion, how they reason, what naturally interests them, and how much confidence the result deserves — and keeps all five distinct.

Every domain below is scored independently. Hover or select one to see its subscales — the specific, named constructs it draws evidence from.

Work Personality

Work Personality & Performance

How a person tends to behave, organize, and follow through in day-to-day work.

  • ProactivityInitiative, anticipation, and opportunity-seeking.
  • ConscientiousnessDiscipline, planning, and follow-through.
  • Positive OrientationConstructive thinking under pressure.
  • ConfidenceGrounded self-belief and assertiveness.
  • Accuracy / Detail OrientationPrecision and quality discipline.
  • AccountabilityOwnership of outcomes and mistakes.

In detail

What each domain contributes to the full picture

01

Work Personality & Performance

How a person tends to behave, organize, and follow through in day-to-day work.

  • Proactivity
  • Conscientiousness
  • Positive Orientation
  • Confidence
  • Accuracy / Detail Orientation
  • Accountability

Scored as trait evidence and combined into an equal-weighted Work Personality Composite — always shown alongside every individual subscale, never in place of them.

02

Emotional Intelligence

How a person manages emotion, reads others, and sustains working relationships.

  • Self-Awareness
  • Self-Control
  • Emotional Resilience
  • Empathy
  • Relationship Management

Scored as trait evidence and combined into an equal-weighted Emotional Intelligence Composite — always shown alongside every individual subscale, never in place of them.

03

Applied Cognitive Ability

How a person reasons through written information, numbers, logic, and judgment calls.

  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Numerical Reasoning
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Situational Judgment

Scored for accuracy and combined into an equal-weighted Applied Cognitive Ability Composite — always shown alongside every individual subscale, never described as IQ.

04

Occupational Interest

What kind of work naturally holds a person's attention — not what they're good at.

  • Realistic
  • Investigative
  • Artistic
  • Social
  • Enterprising
  • Conventional

Ranked, never averaged — the output is a Holland Code and a full six-theme interest profile, not a composite number.

05

Response Quality & Interpretation Confidence

How complete and internally consistent the response pattern appears.

  • Consistency
  • Social Desirability
  • Extreme Responding
  • Attention & Completion

Combined into a single Response Quality & Interpretation Confidence read (Low / Mild / Moderate / High concern) — never shown as a scored personality trait, never described as a lie-detection result.

Why it works this way

The design principles behind the model

These are not incidental choices — they are the reason IWPA can produce a decision-grade profile without collapsing a person into a shallow label.

01

Different constructs need different scoring

Behavioural traits, objective reasoning, ranked preference, and response integrity are not the same kind of measurement. Each domain in IWPA uses the scoring approach that actually fits what it measures — never one generic method applied everywhere.

02

The composite is a headline, never the whole story

Where a composite exists (Work Personality, Emotional Intelligence, Applied Cognitive Ability), it is always shown next to the complete subscale profile beneath it — including the highest and lowest scores and how spread out the profile is.

03

Patterns matter more than any single score

A profile is read for reinforcing patterns — traits that support each other — and tensions, where two traits pull in different directions. Both are shown with the actual score gap, not a vague impression.

04

Confidence is stated, not assumed

Every profile carries a Response Quality read that says how much confidence the rest of the result deserves — because a profile from a rushed, inconsistent, or incomplete attempt should be read differently from a careful one.

What we intentionally don’t publish here

This page explains the model at the level appropriate for a public audience. In keeping with standard psychometric practice, we do not publish the underlying questions, exact scoring formulas, forced-choice keys, cognitive answer keys, or validity thresholds — publishing those would let people answer strategically rather than honestly, undermining the instrument for everyone.
